Call For Manuscripts
The Art Education Research Review (ISSN 1229-0440) is published by the Korea Art Education
Association to provide a worldwide audience with the opportunity for communication and further
understanding on issues of art education. There will be a triple-blind peer review process for
all submissions of articles of general interest. There are no particular limitations on subjects’ areas
as long as they are related to the field of art education and policy. Articles should be analytic
and demonstrate the highest standards of excellence in conceptualization, craftsmanship,
and methodology. Manuscripts should be written in Korea and be about 5,000words in length.
An abstract (in English) of no more than 150 words should be submitted along with the manuscript.
AERR follows the APA Style.
Publishing of the Academic Journal
The Association publishes an academic journal in order to search for ways to actively promote the
cultural and social impact of art and art education, by offering a place where research results
and achievements of those who are engaged in art education can be shared, and to establish
the ideal research environment in all educational institutions, from elementary schools through
colleges. By doing so, the Association hopes to help promote comprehensive research activities
on the content of art education, and more effective instruction methods and theories as well.
The Association is currently publishing the ‘Art Education Academic Review’, which is a collection
of research papers, and “Art Education’, which is a research journal. The Art Education Academic
Review is a collection of purely academic research papers on art education and studies of the
content of art, and is published under strict academic standards for academic journals. Art Education
is a collection of papers on various topics, including on-location research papers, instruction
curriculums, translated papers, lectures on art education, reports on trips to museums, reports
on trips to cultural relics, reviews of books on art education, introduction of new books,
recommendations for art education, exhibition reviews, personal essays, and news of the
members, etc. This periodical is a good resource for members to use in their actual work place.
The Association published the first edition of the Art Education Academic Review in November 1992.
After that, the Association published the Review once each year until 1999. From 2000 to 2002, the
Association published the Review twice a year, and since 2003, three times each year. The academic
journal Art Education Academic Review was selected as a candidate academic magazine to be
registered, after being acknowledged by the Korea Research Foundation.
